Freelance Marketplace
The Marketplace is the main engine of the Pet Keeper Project, a virtual shelter built from the skills and compassion of everyday people. It gathers neighbors, volunteers, and professionals who want to help animals stay in their homes. Some cannot commit long term, but they can step in for a job, a day, or a crisis.
This is more than a gig board. It is a support system created by people who believe pets belong with families, not in shelters. Picture a community marketplace that feels part Upwork and part neighborhood bulletin board, but powered by compassion instead of profit.
Maybe your dog keeps escaping through a broken fence, your cat needs a short foster while you recover from surgery, or an unexpected vet bill threatens your housing. From repairs and foster care to training, walking, and health support, this is where pet owners in crisis find help and where neighbors step forward with solutions.
A pet owner logs on in that moment of need. They describe the problem, and Lloyd, our AI assistant, guides them through the process, helping define the need and matching it with the right people. Service providers, neighbors, and professionals create profiles that show their skills, experience, and availability, making it easy to connect each request with the best fit.
If volunteer support is not enough, the system bridges the gap with donations, sponsors, or paid services. Each request becomes a call to action for the wider network, showing how collective care can change outcomes.
Participation is recognized through a gamified system of badges, tokens, and public appreciation. Badges such as “Pet Keeper Partner” or “Verified Vet” celebrate both skill and generosity, while a public feed showcases acts of care. Everyday skills become solutions, small acts of kindness ripple outward, and together we keep tails wagging, families together, and communities stronger.
